I've checked at least 50 different archive dates for one website, yet it's always missing at least one picture, always the same one, and some dates are missing all the pictures. Why would pictures be missing, considering they were there on the real website at the time of archive? Either they archived the site or they didn't. It seems it would all be there in the arhive. Unless they're lossing data from their archives?

We can have many, many different scenarios of why some Web resources are not in the archive.
If you post an example we might be able to explain what is missing and why.

Keep in mind that things are not that simple. Web crawlers are programs that traverse Web in a methodical way. Different crawlers have different "methods" of crawling and they achieve different results. Most of the Archive's Web collection comes as donations from Alexa Internet. Alexa crawls the Web according to their needs that might not be solely focused on archiving the Web but more on cataloging it (search engine like approach). When it comes to cataloging the Web images or other media types are usually not the primary objectives.

Take care,
i.
